Health and Wellbeing Week 16-20th March

HWW4From the 16th of March keep your eyes peeled for plenty of help and advice on staying healthy this semester.

We’ll be sharing lots of useful info on topics such as healthy eating, mental wellbeing and getting active and there’ll be a few events on campus for you to get involved in too.

 

Here’s a rundown of what’s on in Health and Wellbeing Week:

Monday 16th – Get Active

We’ll be sharing lots of info online about simple things you can do to get more active as well as an update on our campus and local clubs

EVENT: Football Kick about from 6pm in the College Sports Hall

Tuesday 17th – Mental Health and Wellbeing

Today we’re focusing on a few aspects of Mental Health and Wellbeing, such as coping with stress, helplines and university resources. 

EVENT: Transgender Awareness Workshop

We’re also running two Trans Workshops at 3pm and 5pm in association with the Crichton LGBT+. Come along to this informative and interesting workshop to learn about trans issues, and how to be a good ally to transgender people. All students and staff are welcome. FREE.

Wednesday 18th – Healthy Eating

We’ll be sharing lots of healthy eating advice, some useful online resources and some healthy recipes.

EVENT: Free Badminton Games from 5-6pm in the David Keswick Centre. Numbers will be limited to 20 so please register here: Badminton Sign Up

Thursday 16th – Alcohol Awareness

How much is too much? And what damage can too much do? We’ll be talking about units, alcohol and health and calories!

Friday 17th – Sexual Health and Wellbeing

We’re finishing off our week by sharing a few excellent resources on sexual relationships, wellbeing and sexual health.

EVENT: We’ll be providing free condoms in student common rooms as well so feel free to take as many as you need.
