Services

There is a Post Office with the Spar on Whitesands open 9.00am – 5.30pm Mon – Sat and on St Michaels Street open 7am – 5.30pm Mon-Sat.

There is a wide range of churches of various denominations, mosques and other religious centres throughout Dumfries and you can find a full list on the Council website under the Faith and Religion section.

You can find plenty of visitor attractions and places of interest in and around Dumfries and Galloway but checking out the Visit Scotland website or calling in and speaking to one of the staff at the Visitor Information centre on Whitesands

UWS Senate & Session Dates

UWS Rights and Regulations section will be able to tell students the ins and outs of what will be required, as a condition of enrollment, to abide by, and submit to and current regulations as approved by the Senate.

Glasgow University Calendar

The University of Glasgow Calendar is the annual publication of University degree regulations and other information and regulations which cover fees, student codes, assessment and examinations. The Calendar is available on-line and in printed form. The printed Calendar is currently divided into 9 separately numbered sections, including separate sections for each College.

The SRC

SRC

Though based in Glasgow the SRC is here to help all students at Glasgow University including those on Dumfries’ Crichton Campus.

“Glasgow University Students’ Representative Council’s job is to support the students of Glasgow University and ensure their time here is as enjoyable, safe and interesting as possible. Day-in, day-out we’re here to help, or even just listen to, the concerns of students.”

SAUWS

 

SAUWS

UWS students have further support from the University of the West of Scotland through there multi campus student association SAUWS.

“Student Association UWS (SAUWS) the voice of students across UWS. We provide opportunities for students to improve their courses, get involved in sports clubs and societies, run club nights and other entertainments, provide hardship funds and if you have any academic or welfare issues we can offer confidential and independent advice. The student body of UWS is as diverse as its geography, with students both mature, and not-so mature, International and home! The Univeristy embraces all parts of its diversity in its welcoming campuses in Ayr, Hamilton, Paisley and Dumfries.”

Student Link

Student Link is available to ALL students at Dumfries Campus and  is located within the Crichton University Library in the Dumfries and Galloway College building. Student Link can provide help and advice on everything from finance and funding to study tips, cvs and career plans.

The Student Link is open 8.45am – 4.45pm, Monday – Friday but appointments can be made outside this time by arrangement.
