Christmas Celebration – 12th December

Why not take a break from all that studying and come along to a Christmas Celebration on Campus on Thursday 12th December at 11.30am in the foyer of the Rutherford McCowan Building. This will be followed by tea & coffee and mince pies at around 12.30pm.

All students are welcome!

We will also be looking for a few volunteers who might be interested in prayer reading. If this is something you might like to do please get in touch with our Community Engagement, Spiritual Care and Care Leaver Co-ordinator; Jane O’Rorke ( jane.ororke@uws.ac.uk ) for arrangements.

CUCSA Bake Sale raises £331.54

CUCSA Bake Sale Update:

A massive thanks to all who helped us raised a grand total of £331.54! Your cakes and contributions are greatly appreciated.

We have chosen to donate our sum through the British Red Cross to help in the Philippines Typhoon Appeal. You can find out more how they are helping out in the Philippines at the Red Cross online.

Student Volunteer Fair – Wednesday 20th November

This Wednesday there will be a mini-volunteer fair held in Rutherford McCowan from 10am til 2pm to showcase some of the volunteering opportunities for students in the region.

Attendees include Citizens Advice (Dumfries), Royal Voluntary Service Good Neighbours (Befriending services) and the local volunteer development service.

This “mini volunteer fair” really has something for everyone, with a huge range of opportunities on offer covering aspects that relate closely to all academic areas covered on campus. This could be a chance to add to your existing experience, try a work area you might be considering or actually gain experience that could help you get a job in future.

CUCSA Bake Sale in aid of the Philippines Typhoon Appeal

On the 8th of November Typhoon Haiyan struck the Philippines and was one of the most intense tropical storms to ever make landfall anywhere in the world affecting millions of people throughout the region.

CUCSA would like to help raise funds and will therefore be holding a bake sale in aid of the Philippines Typhoon Appeal.

Please feel free to donate your baking to our stall or simply come along the Rutherford McCowan on Friday (22nd) any time between 9am and 4pm and purchase some tasty home baked goods to help us fund raise for this cause.
