With 3 weeks to go to the biggest student party in Dumfries we’re going to reveal a little more about our Freshers’ Week to get you psyched for starting uni.
We want to make sure you get a good start to student life so your Student Association, CUCSA will be on hand at all the events as well as being around through the day to help with queries and questions.
Make sure you head to all your induction lectures and meetings and we will be popping up in them to welcome you all to campus and introduce ourselves.
So now you’re enrolled and meet all the staff its time to get out in Dumfries and meet you class and uni mates. We have a friendly footie match for you guys to show off your skills from 3pm and then we’re kicking off Monday night with our American style Frat Party at Wh? Not with lots of ice breaker games. And don’t worry about being left out if you’re still 17, under 18s are welcome! Make sure you get along on this first night to give you a taste of what’s on offer in Dumfries.
Tuesday From 3pm we have a Cocktail Making Masterclass in Mississippi followed by our only ticketed event but with live comedians and free pizza its worth it! Our Black and White Night with be in Primo Piano from 8pm but make sure you get your tickets for £2 on sale in the Rutherford McCowan building from Monday to avoid disappointment
By far our biggest day is Wednesday and you will not want to miss what we have in store. Our Freshers’ Fair kicks off at 12noon at Maxwell House and will be buzzing with stalls both inside and out. We have our sports teams and societies as well as lots of uni representative to show you what’s on offer right here on campus. Of course student life isn’t all about uni so we’re scoured Dumfries to find you all the best people to meet, places to check out and things to do and all of them will be eager to clue you up and make give you the odd freebie!. We’ve got banks and bars, coffee and cooking demos its all going to be at our Fair! If that wasn’t enough to get you in stick around till 4 and we’ll be having a pub quiz right here on campus in one of our Freshers’ Fair tents with massive prizes to be won!
We’ll give you a wee rest after all that excitement but come 12midnight CUCSA is taking you to Chancers for a UV night. Brighten up your evening and let your spirit shine!
Come Thursday we have two options for you. For the adventurous types we’re taking you out on the town with our Pub Golf night. Grab your club and your cap and get ready for some challenges. Sadly we cannot accommodate under 18s on this night out but we haven’t forgotten you. We have organised an exciting film night for you at the Robert Burns Centre who are having a screening for us.
Its Friday and there’s no rest for you guys yet. We’re keeping the party going with a Beach Theme Night in the Queenberry. Challenges, chuckles and plenty more.
We’re letting you find our own night our come Saturday or maybe have a restful day but get ready for Sunday as we’re going to Déjà Vu from 8pm for an Underwater Evening. Free pizza and plenty of prizes.
