Bad Weather and University Attendance

As recent days have shown Scotland’s weather can be unpredictable and severe. Sometimes this might affect University services or your ability to get to campus. Make sure you get the up-to-date information on classes by checking your university email regularly, connect with the university pages on facebook and follow their twitter accounts.

We also recommend checking websites or social media pages for  Police Scotland both in you local area and Dumfries and Galloway and Traffic Scotland for road conditions, sites such as ScotRail for public transport, the MetOffice for weather forecasts and local and national news for up to date information.

If worst comes to worst and you can’t make it in due to weather conditions make sure you have read the university policies on adverse weather and contact the relevant person to let them know you cannot attend. It is vitally important if this affects your exam attendance.
